The sidewalk outside of the Conde Nast Building is dark grey with sparkly bits embedded in the concrete. It’s lovely, it looks like stars. But what is amazing about the sparkliness of these sidewalk stars is that they only sparkle when I’m walking. One has to be moving to see the sparkly stars. The movement of the lights (and there is a lot of movement in those Times Square lights) can’t make the stars shine, only my feet and eyes can.
